Dorothy May Carey, 82, of Eau Claire died Friday February 11, 2005 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
She was born in Salem, Ohio on May 30, 1922, the daughter of Samuel and Katherine (Wentzel) Krauss.
She graduated from Salem High School and Northwestern University with a degree in music. She married David C. Carey on June 13, 1948 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Salem, Ohio. David passed away on April 24, 1997.
She is survived by her children; Cynthia K. (Alfred) Monaco of Altoona, WI, Stephen C. (Kathleen) Carey of New Market, MD, Gordon S. Carey of Waverly Hall, GA, William D. (Tereza) Carey of Cataula, GA, and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a brother, Samuel G. Krauss and a sister, Martha K. Krauss.
Her laugh, sense of humor, joy, and dedication and loyalty to her family will be deeply missed. Burial will be at a later date in the Hope Cemetery in Salem, Ohio.
