Pastor Robert Holton Arneson, age 83 of Eau Claire died Friday, August 26, 2005 at the Clairemont Nursing Home in Eau Claire. Born December 9, 1921 in Minneapolis, MN to Arthur and Ann Marie (Holton)
Arneson.

He attended school in Kenyon, MN. He later attended the University of Minnesota from 1940 to 1942, when he enlisted in the United States Navy. |
| In 1943, he applied for Pre-Chaplainry training and was sent to Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA from which he graduated in June 1945. |

Pastor Arneson is a graduate of Luther Theological Seminary, which is located in St. Paul. He served as pastor in Janesville, WI, Birchwood, WI, Independence, Trinity Lutheran in Eau Claire, and Trinity Lutheran Church in Osseo. After his retirement, he was an Interim Minister and Nursing Home Chaplain.

He married Helen Gunderson of Osseo on February 18, 1984. She died on February 9, 1992. During their time together, Bob and Helen loved to travel and to host family get-togethers. They also hosted foreign exchange students. Bob was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.
Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Alverda Moritz of Red Wing, MN and Sandy Gunderson, three nieces and three nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. His parents, his wife Helen, and two brothers-in-law, Karl Moritz Sr. and Eldon Gunderson, preceded him in death.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. Rev. Rolf Nestingen will officiate. Graveside services will follow later that day at Kings Valley Cemetery near Osseo at 2:00 pm with military rites conducted by the American Legion Post #53. Friends and family may call at the church on Wednesday morning from 10:00 until the time of services.
