Joseph J. Bader, 96, of Eau Claire, died Monday January 31, 2005 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
He was born June 15, 1908 in Ottin Czechoslovakia, the son of Vendel and
Kathrine Bader. He attended school in Milwaukee, graduated from Washington High School and attended Palmer Chiropractic College in Iowa. While he was in college he met and married Etta Kelley on May 28, 1938 in Ohio.

After graduating school he opened a practice in West Allis and lived in Elm Grove, Wisconsin. He ran his practice for over 40 years and then retired to Florida and Arkansas for several years. They moved from Ft. Meyers to Eau Claire in 1993 to be close to their family. Joe was also an avid golfer and bridge player. Joe and Etta traveled extensively during their lives.
He was an active Mason and Shriner and a member of the George B. Wheeler Lodge in Eau Claire. Joe was a member at St. Luke Episcopal Church in Altoona. His family will always remember him as a kind and gentle man and he will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Etta of Eau Claire, a nephew, Joseph Stoll (Mary) of Palm Harbor, Florida and many close family members.
Masonic Rites will be held for Joe at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, February 5th at Fuller-Speckien Funeral Home followed by a funeral service with the Reverend David Lundean officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until the time of Masonic Rites at the funeral home on Saturday. Interment services will be Monday February 8th at Arlington Park Cemetery in Greenfield, Wisconsin.
