Clifford "Cliff" Bechard, 65, of the Town of Union, died Sunday, January 4, 2004 at Sacred Heart Hospital surrounded by his family. 

He was born October 15, 1938, the son of Morris and Aileen (Hampton) Bechard in Eau Claire. Cliff married Judy Steiner on June 18, 1960 at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. After high school Cliff served in the U.S. Army, 22 Infantry at Ft. Lewis, WA. After returning home, Cliff worked for Dolly Madison Dairies for 7 years. He retired as shop foreman from Hovland Sheet Metal in 1997 where he worked for 31 years. Cliff was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 18 for 37 years. He was a supervisor in the Town of Wheaton and the Town of Union. Cliff was also a 4-H Club Leader and also a member of the Studebaker Drivers Club. Cliff enjoyed family, collecting antiques and traveling. His passion was working and playing with his tractors and Studebakers and traveling with family and friends.

  
Clifford was preceded in death by his birth mother and father, sister, Anita Canfield and brother-in-law, Don Kloss. He is survived by, Judy, his wife of 43 years, his children and grandchildren, Larry and Lori (Klingbeil) of Fall Creek, Susan, Amanda and Andrew; Rodney and Rhonda (Anderl) of the Town of Union, Delany; Jeffrey and Brenda (Brunn) of Town of Union, Jared and Janessa; Aileen (Jeff) Bush of Altoona, Rhiana, Tyler, and Jordyn; Kaye (Brent) Rhody of Town of Union, Jacob and Danielle; Mother, Darleen Bechard, Vancouver, WA; two brothers, Steven Bechard of Vancouver, WA and Jerry Bechard of Hayward, WI; sister, Judy Burce of Eau Claire and sister-in-law, Barb Kloss of Eau Claire. Memorials to Epiphany Lutheran Church, Sacred Heart Hospital or Township Fire Department. 

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 8, 2004 at Fuller-Speckien Funeral Home with Pastor Russell Kampfer officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at Fuller-Speckien Funeral Home and also one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
