James Biegel, 72, of Eau Claire, passed away Monday evening, November 27, 2006, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.
 
James, son of Robert and Elsie (Raether) Biegel, was born October 14, 1934, in the town of Ludington Eau Claire County.
 
He was united in marriage to Eileen Weggen on October 6, 1956 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ludington. Jim was an appliance, heating, and refrigeration technician for Sears for 41 years, retiring in 1998. He served in the Army Reserve from 1957 to 1963. He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church and served as chairman of the congregation for many years.

  
He loved to hunt, trap, fish, and trap-shoot and was a devout Packer fan. He was skilled at carpentry and with his father-in-law, built the home his family has lived in for 48 years.
 
He is survived by his loving wife Eileen of 50 years, his son Jeffrey (Julie), son John (Sharon) his mother Elsie Biegel, sister Janet (Wallace) Weltzin, brother Ted (Pat) and grandchildren Rachel, Mitchum, Brandi, Bradley, Evan, and Vincent. He is further survived by a brother-in-law Don Weggen (Diane) sister-in-law, Jane Weggen (Charles Barnes) and many nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Biegel, brother, Cecil, father-in-law Ewald Weggen, and mother-in-law Emma Weggen.
 
A Celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, November 30, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Pastor Steve Rutter officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home and on Thursday at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Church cemetery in Seymour.
 
Memorials can be directed to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church or the Development Office at Luther Hospital. The family wishes to thank Dr. Steve Weiss and Luther Hospital for their devoted care of Jim for many years, as well as Dr. Michael Murphy and Northwest Wisconsin Home Care and Partners Place.
