Gerhardt Leonard Brantner, 80, of the town of Brunswick died Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at Luther Hospital. 
 
He was born September 19, 1925 in Lima Township, Pepin County, the son of George and Hannah (Berger) Brantner. He attended school in Lima, WI. Gerhardt served his country in the U.S. Navy.
 
  

On September 3, 1946 he married Jean Dickerson in Eau Claire, WI. They lived in the town of Brunswick all their married life. He worked and retired as an iron worker, Local 512. He loved hunting, fishing and building his bird feeders. 
 
He is survived by his wife, Jean (Dickerson) Brantner of Eau Claire, son Gerhardt Brantner, Jr. (Sally Clark); daughters Barbara (Delbert) Beebe of Rock Falls, Gail Ann Beaulieu of Lake Hallie, Kathy Brantner (Larry Bandoli) of Eau Claire, Sharon (Vern) Moen of Eau Claire; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister, Rose Stewart of Durand and brothers, Fred (Grace) Brantner of Nelson, Phillip Brantner of Arkansaw, George (Barbara) Brantner of Waunakee and John (Alice) Brantner of Pepin. 
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Hannah Brantner; sisters, Margaret Davis, Francis Smith, Doris Sanders and Beatrice Anderson; brothers, Robert and Paul Brantner and also by infant twin brothers.
 
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2005 at Fuller-Speckien Funeral Home with Father Edmund Klimek officiating. Burial will be in Brunswick Cemetery where Military Rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 53. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services on Friday at the funeral home.
