Allegra Ziebell Bruner, age 83, of 4927 Jeffers Road, passed away in her sleep on Friday, November 7, 2003. She had been a resident of Dove Healthcare since July of 2003 where her heart of gold and kindness to others will be greatly missed.
Born July 1, 1920 in Bloomer, Wisconsin, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Irene Ziebell.
Allegra graduated from Bloomer High School and attended two years of college before she moved to Washington D.C. and served her country during WWII as an employee of the Department of Justice under J. Edgar Hoover.

It was during this time that she met her late husband, Mack Bruner, and together they raised three children in the Eau Claire area, Judson Bruner of Eau Claire, Star (Ray) Silverman of Huntingdon Valley, PA, and Darcy (Richard) Parr of Eau Claire. Allegra has nine grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Frederick Thompson of Strum, Wisconsin, her parents, two brothers, Sidney and Stanley Ziebell, a sister, Virgie Lueck, and a companion in her later years, Orville von Asten.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 11 in the Fuller-Speckien Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road, Eau Claire. After a time of sharing fond remembrances of Allegra, the burial will follow in the Bloomer Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. and one hour preceding the service on Tuesday.
