Werner L. Abley age 85, of Eau Claire passed away November 7, 2007, at Syverson Lutheran Home after complications with Alzheimer's disease.
Werner was born of January 11, 1922 on family farm in the Town of Wheaton, WI., the son of Henry and Katherine (Marti) Abley.
Werner devoted his life to farming. He married Rosa Ausderau on June 11, 1949. Together they purchased the family farm retiring in 1984. Upon retirement they moved to Eau Claire where Werner had more time to enjoy his hobbies- gems and minerals, genealogy, an extensive record collection, and traveling. Werner was an active member of Concordia Lutheran Church until his illness prevented attendance.

He is survived by two sons, Paul (Diane) of Douglasville, GA, and Mark (Cathryn) of Eau Claire; two daughters Marie (Ron) Ford of Chippewa Falls, and Jeanne (Jim) of West Melbourne, FL; one sister Hilda Francel of Augusta; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
While Werner will be deeply missed by family and friends, he will be once again be reunited with his beloved wife Rosa for eternity.
Werner was preceded in death by his wife Rosa, their son James, his sister Frieda, two brothers Walter and John, and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am at Concordia Lutheran Church, 3715 London Road, Eau Claire, WI, with Pastor Frederick Theiste officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
