William Joseph Boyle, 82 of Eau Claire, passed away Monday night December 17, 2007 at Dove Healthcare.

Bill was born July 4, 1925 in Mauston WI to William and Esther (Doyle) Boyle. He graduated from Mauston High School and worked on the home farm. |

|
During 1950 - 1952, he served in the US Army 1st Calvary Division in Korean War with the combat infantry. |
| Upon returning from the Army, he attended UW-River Falls and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Education. He earned a Master's Degree in Agricultural Education and a PhD in Education Administration from UW-Madison. |

Bill married Carolyn Mae Styer on August 8, 1953 at St Henry's Catholic Church in Eau Galle, WI. He taught in Belvidere, IL and Adams-Friendship, WI and served as high school principal in Adams-Friendship for seven years. After receiving a PhD, he worked with the Wisconsin Board of Vocational Education before coming to Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC) as Assistant Director of Instruction in 1967 and retired in 1987. "Doc" as he was referred to at CVTC, was instrumental in identifying and leading the development of the health care program, law enforcement program and many other key service programs.
He served on committees for WI Vocational Administration, Advisory Council at St Patrick's Parish, and Advisory Council at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was also a member of St Patrick's Parish, Hillcrest Golf and Country Club, VFW, American Legion, and Chippewa Valley College Foundation. Bill enjoyed playing golf, cards, cheering for the Packers, attending sporting events, dining out, and being with friends. Especially important to him was spending time with his children and grandchildren and attending their various sporting events. Bill and Carolyn spent several winters in Sun City West, AZ.
Bill is survived by his four children, Michael (Sandra) Boyle of Eau Claire, Michelle (Stephen) Bauer of Reedsburg, Mark (Sim) Boyle of Green Bay, and Mathew Boyle of Wausau. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren: Kelley, Tracey, and Mickey Boyle; Kristin (Jeffrey) Lyden, Ashley and Alison Bauer; and William, Anastasia, and Carrie Lynn Boyle and one great grandchild, Jordan Matyas.
He is further survived by a brother, Patrick (Mary) Boyle of Madison; sister Catherine (Tom) Morrissey of Boise ID; and sister-in-law, Rosetta Boyle of New Lisbon; and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife Carolyn, his parents, and brother John Lee.
Bill was a very special person. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Memorials may be made to a scholarship fund at the CVTC in Bill's name, to Sacred Heart Hospital or to the organization of the donor's choice.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Monsignor E. Klimek and Father V. Joseph concelebrating. Friends may call at Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road, Eau Claire, WI on Friday evening from 4-7 p.m. and again at church one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Chapel of the Resurrection Mausoleum.
