Doris L. Brott, 94, of Strum, WI., completed her journey to be with her Lord, on Saturday, February 3, 2007, at Oak Gardens Assisted Living in Altoona. Doris was the fifth child of William and Ida (Hehl) Behlke, born February 11, 1912, in the town of Lincoln, Eau Claire County, WI. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Cleghorn, WI. 
 
Doris later became a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Cleghorn. She was active in the Ladies Society and LWML. She also served as Sunday School Teacher for many years. 
 

Doris enjoyed the outdoors. She loved fishing and often told about the times she spent fishing nearby creeks and rivers with her cane fish pole. She spent many years on the farm doing all jobs from milking cows by hand to canning the fruits and vegetables of her large garden. She loved to bake, (especially chocolate chip date cake and snicker doodles). Doris planted her last vegetable garden in 2006. She still canned the green beans and fruit. She had a love for her flowers, especially roses, geraniums and morning glories. She also enjoyed watching the birds at her feeders. She was care-giver for her many grandchildren who have very fond memories of Grandma. 
 
Doris is survived by four daughters and two sons: Darlene Stuber, Mondovi; Betty (Gary) Herman, Apple Valley, MN; Donald (Diane) Brott, Eau Claire; James (Rebecca) Brott, Eau Claire; Judy (Alan) Sommerfeld, Williston, ND; and Linda (Ron) Krienke, Altoona. She is further survived by 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren: Susan (Reuben) Mravik, Marcus and Micah, Holmen, WI; Vicki (Oscar) Howell, Brooklynn and Kayla, Mondovi; Tim (Jenny) Stuber, Sam and twins Max and Alex, Mondovi; Laura (Joel) Otto, Anna, Emma and Micah, Minocqua, WI; Lisa (Robb) Vander Loop, twins Dylan and Noah, and Cody, Rosemount, MN; Michelle (Ryan) Roth, Nicholas, Williamston, MI; Angela (Kevin) Collignon, Kyle and Alex, Rosemount, MN; Karla (Ken) Spies, Jacob, Brittany, Nathan and Brandon, Eau Claire; Sandra (Mike) Froseth, Kendra, Melissa and Brianna, Eleva; Darin (Mary) Brott, Andrew and Justin, Eau Claire; Joni Brott (Dave Baker), Eau Claire; Sarah Brott, Caleb, Eau Claire; Benjamin (Laurie) Brott, Eau Claire; Lydia Brott, Eau Claire; Jennifer Sommerfeld, Fargo, ND; Mark Sommerfeld, Williston, ND; Joseph (Stephanie) Krienke, Joshua and Emma, Blue Lake, CA; Bethany (Nathan) Walker, Grantsburg, WI. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Hilda Behlke, Altoona. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
 
Doris was preceded in death by an infant son, Dale Robert Brott; four brothers, Ewald (Emelia) Behlke, Arthur Behlke, Arnold Behlke and Clarence Behlke; four sisters, Helen (Fred) Barneson, Edna (Albert) Barneson, Lorena (Otto) Sell and Viola Behlke.
 
Funeral services will at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 7, 2007, at Zion Lutheran Church in Cleghorn with Rev. Mark Braden officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Cleghorn. Friends may call at Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 4-7 pm and on Wednesday morning at the church an hour prior to services.
 
Memorials may be given in Doris’ name to Zion Lutheran Church.
