Mildred L. Burgmeier, age 84 of Altoona, died on Friday, August 17, 2007 at Syverson Lutheran Home.
Mildred was born on October 4, 1922, the daughter of Thomas and Cora (Adams) Rockwell. She married Willard Burgmeier on March 4, 1961 in Rockford IL.
She was passionate about singing, dancing to polka music, playing cards, and watching the Lawrence Welk Show. Mildred was a life long member of Altoona United Methodist Church where she enjoyed spending time as a member of the Ladies Aid and served as president. She participated in the Moose Lodge in which she held office, the Moose Choir and the Altoona VFW Women's Auxiliary.

Mildred is survived by her husband, Willard, Altoona, WI; sons, Timothy Burgmeier, Altoona,WI, Frank (Terry) Serpe, Colorado Springs, CO, Bill Serpe, Milwaukee, WI, Peter (Julie) Serpe, Colorado Springs, CO; stepson, Thomas Burgmeier, Chetek. WI; stepdaughter, Nancy (Joe) Zember, Racine, WI; sister-in-law, Dorothy Rockwell, Racine, WI; thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her son Theodore, two sisters, and one brother.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2007 at Altoona United Methodist Church with Pastor Keith Aurand officiating. Friends may call at church from 10:00 a.m. until time of services. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Town of Washington.
