M. Elaine Christensen, 96, died October 1, 2007 at Syverson Lutheran Home. She was born August 15, 1911 to Emma (Pederson) and Alfred Christensen. Elaine was the youngest of 6 children including Minnie, Alice, William, Lawrence and Chester.
Elaine graduated from UW-Eau Claire in 1933 with an education degree and served as Alumni President in the 1950's. She received a Master's degree in Education from UW-Madison. She taught school for a number of years before working at Samuelson's Department Store as a merchandise manager. She was a lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Elaine is survived by nieces Lynn Lorenz and Gloria Christensen, and a number of great- nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters, nieces, Mary Eloise (John) Maher, Joanne Bjornstad, Carolyn Wilcox and nephew, Douglas (Gloria) Christensen.
Services for Elaine will be Friday, October 5, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Chapel, 202 W. Grand Avenue, Eau Claire. Pastor Rolf Nestingen will be officiating. Friends and family may call at the chapel one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery immediately following the service.
