Helen J. Eggers

Helen JoAnne Eggers, age 72 of Eau Claire passed away early Monday morning October 8, 2007 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

Memorial Services will be at 4:00 pm on Sunday October 14, 2007 at Peace Lutheran Church, 501 E. Fillmore Street, Eau Claire, WI 54701. Pastor Mark Schulz will officiate. Friends may call at the church Sunday afternoon from 3 pm until the time of services.

Helen was born on August 28, 1935 in Drummond, Wisconsin to George and Margaret (Holly) Warburton. Helen raised her large family in Ashland where she was employed as a Statistics Supervisor with Northwest Wisconsin Concentrated Employment Program for over 20 years. She moved from Ashland, WI to Eau Claire in 1990.

Helen was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, and she loved to bake and decorate cakes, which she would donate to her church for bake sales and special events. As her health limited some of her baking, she began beading and made beautiful jewelry for her friends and family. She loved to fish with her boys and always enjoyed cooking whatever was brought home.

Helen was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret A. (Holly) Warburton and her father George Warburton. She is survived by 2 sisters, Jeanne (Wilbert) Bennett of Almena, WI and Louise (John) Mateju of Hayward, WI and a brother Richard (Judy) Warburton of Hayward, WI. She is further survived by three daughters, Margaret (John) Hakala of Eau Claire, Teresa Overton (Sharif Torpis) of Fremont, CA, and Melissa Smith (Bill Schell) of Madison, two sons, George Eggers of Superior and Kurt (Kari) Eggers of Madison. She was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1.5 great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Helen's name to Friends of Sacred Heart Hospital, earmarked for the Cancer Fund, 900 West Clairemont Avenue, Eau Claire, WI 54701 or to your favorite charity.
