Shirley Wiebers Harder, age 84, died Sunday, July
22, at Syverson Nursing Home in Eau Claire,
Wis.
Shirley was born Aug. 25, 1922, to the late Hanse
and Amelia (Wiebers) Harder in Sioux Falls, S.D.

She was baptized and confirmed at Zion
Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls and active in
the Walther League. Shirley transferred to St.
Johns Lutheran Church when she moved to Eau
Claire in 1981.
Shirley graduated from Washington High School in Sioux Falls and went on to earn her secretarial degree from Mettleton College. After college she moved to the San Fernando Valley in California, where she worked for the State of California and Los Angeles County. Shirley was a member of
PSA, Professional Secretarial Association, in California and Wisconsin. She also enjoyed reading and knitting.

Shirley was loved and will be missed by her sister, Beverly Pederson of Northridge, Calif.; nephew, Greg (Jodi) Ellious of Wisconsin Rapids; niece, Nancy (Bram) Groeneveld of Danville, Calif.; great-nephews, Greg Jr. (Alie) Ellious, Josh (Stephanie) Ellious, Mike (Lisa) Ellious, Dave (Nancy) Ellious and Ryan Groeneveld; great-niece, Ammi LeRoy; their children; and dear friend, Sophie Pathos.
She was preceded in death by her parents; fiance, Doug Kiewel; nephew, Mark Pederson; and brother-in-law, M. Dale Pederson.
Shirley will be laid to rest with her parents at Hills of Rest in Sioux Falls. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Syverson Nursing Home in Eau Claire.
