Julia A. Hays, age 91, departed this earth to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 6:51 p.m. in Meriter Hospital, Madison, WI. Julia was born on August 11, 1915 in Strum, WI the daughter of Halvor and Christine
(Traaseth) Haugen. Julia lived most of her life in the Eau Claire area. She was a faithful member of First Lutheran Church, loved her family, and enjoyed gardening and cooking. She will be dearly missed.
Julia is survived by her daughters, Joyce Kivikko of Rochelle, IL; Gloria (Robert) Valska of Pacific MO, Delores
(Eldor) Bethke of Madison, WI; one son, Richard (Sherry) Hays of Byron, IL, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Her parents, her husband, Verner F. Hays and sons, Robert and Duane Hays, sister, Evelyn Hays and brother, Gilbert Haugen, precede Julia in death.
Funeral service for Julia will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 16, 2007 at the Chapel of First Lutheran Church in Eau Claire with The Rev. Dr. Duane C. Pederson officiating. Visitation will be held at First Lutheran Church Chapel on Friday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington.
