Macie W. Hays, 93, of Eau Claire, passed away on March 3, 2007 at Luther Hospital.
 
He was born February 1, 1914 to Milo and Tillie Hays in the Town of Eleva. He began work as a farmer and then spent 36 years working for Gould Battery. He loved fishing, playing cards, walking, and reading his Bible. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church.
 
He is survived by his wife, Arvilla; his three children: Carol Trinko of Jamestown, Tennessee; Elaine Schankey of Eau Claire; Raymond Hays of Racine; three brothers: Vilas (Bide) of Eau Claire; Vane (Stan) of Eau Claire; Milo (Vernie) of Eau Claire; 15 Grandchildren; 30 Great-Grandchildren; and 9 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
 
He is preceeded in death by his parents, his sister (Lily), his half-sister (Vivian); and four of his brothers: Clarence; Minor; Audian (Bunky); Vernor (Roy).

 
Funeral services for Macie will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 8, 2007 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Eau Claire with Pastors Paul Tiefel and Mark Gullerud officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Fuller-Speckein-Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road, Eau Claire, and one hour prior to the time of service at the church. Interment will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington. Family and friends may sign the guest book online at www.fullerspeckien.com.
