Robert O. Hoff, 86 of Eau Claire, died November 20, 2007.
|
Robert was born in Lacrosse, Wisconsin, on April 27, 1921 to Oscar and Verna
(Swensen) Hoff. He moved to Minneapolis in 1931. He graduated from Minneapolis Marshall High School in 1939. He played professional baseball with the Oshkosh Giants and the Eau Claire Bears in 1941 and 1942.
He married Mildred Hoepner on September 11, 1943.

He served in the Air Force from 1942-1945. He served as a B-25 co-pilot with a rank of second lieutenant. |
Upon his discharge he worked as a route salesman for Huebsch Linen Service for 37 ½ years, retiring in 1983.

Robert is survived by his wife Mildred; one son, Robert W. and his wife Janet of Nekoosa; two daughters, Sherry of Eau Claire and Linda Cable of Eau Claire; three granddaughters and their families: Wendy and Steve Exner of Chippewa Falls and their children Olivia, Collin, and Chloe; Jill and Mike Dillon of Nekoosa and their children Joshua and Isaiah; and Jennifer and Feylon Santo of Chippewa Falls and their children Carter, Logan and Ryan.
He is further survived by his sisters-in-law Marjorie Hoepner, Mary Jane Hoepner and Violet Hoff.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, John of Minneapolis, and his son-in-law David Cable of Eau Claire.
Services for Robert will be on Saturday, November 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Pinehurst Lutheran Church with Pastor Bruce Schwark officiating. A visitation will be on Friday, November 23 at Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road, Eau Claire, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m until the time of services on Saturday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington.
