Diane Green Kelly, age 52, of Eau Claire, completed her life on January 15, 2007 at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, with adoring members of her family present. Her eight month struggle with cancer was truly an inspiration to her family and friends, to those actively involved in her treatment, and to others fighting their own battles. She had no time for anger or resentment nor would she permit such in others. She welcomed the positive, loving support and encouragement she received from others. She accepted the twists, turns and setbacks in the course of her treatment as temporary, maintaining her optimism, her sense of humor, and above all her courage and dignity, throughout. Even those who cared for her only a short time at the end of her life wept at her passing, expressing disappointment at not having known her better. Her family and her friends, despite their profound sense of loss, share the pride, inspiration and joy that came from their contact with her. To quote the Irish: "If you were lucky enough to know Diane, you were lucky enough."
