Effie J. Kuhn, 101, daughter of Charles A. and Laura (Morford) Kuhn, was born Oct. 31, 1905, in Kirwin, Kan., and died June 17, 2007, in Eau Claire.
Effie grew to womanhood on her parents’ farm near Neligh, Neb., and received her formal education at Neligh Public Schools, graduating from Neligh High School. After graduation, she taught in rural schools for several years.
She operated a beauty salon in Neligh for many years, and was an agent for Continental General Insurance Company. She moved to Eau Claire in the ’90s to be close to her great-niece, Leann.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Blanche Fuller; and a half-brother, Emmet Kuhn.
Survivors include one niece, Pauline Johnson; great-nieces, Leann Hohman of Eau Claire, Paula Chamberlain of Omaha, Neb., Jackie Lee and Pamela Drum; other relatives and friends.
Interment will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 22, at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Neligh, Neb.
