Jean Carol Larsen, 78, of Eau Claire, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.
 

Jean, the daughter of Joseph and Olga (Thompson) Sippel was born March 11, 1929 in Eau Claire. She graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1946. She united in marriage to M Wayne Larsen on September 17, 1949.
 
She was wonderful wife and devoted mother, caring for her family and friends throughout her life. Her lively personality made her a joy to be around. Jean had a passion for golf, for which she won many awards. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, listening to music, singing in church choir, and traveling. Jean worked in the Luther Hospital Business Office for 25 years before retiring.

  
Jean and her "club" of high school friends maintained a life long friendship and enjoyed meeting together every month for over 60 years.
 
Jean was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
 
She is survived by: her husband Wayne; 4 children, Brad (Kathy) Larsen, Rick Larsen, David (Terri) Larsen, and Karen Larsen (Rick Wichmann); sisters, Lorraine Milward and Madeline Sippel; brother, Richard (Rose) Sippel; grandson, Bryan Larsen; granddaughters, Janel and Paige Hayden; and nieces and nephews, all of Eau Claire and a sister-in-law, Ferne Thaler of Chippewa Falls. 
 
Her parents and two brother-in-laws, Wes Milward and George Thaler preceded her in death.
 
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 23 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1314 E. Lexington Blvd., in Eau Claire, with Pastor Kurt Jacobson presiding. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Monday, October 22, at the Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road and at Trinity Lutheran from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire, after the service, followed by lunch at Trinity Lutheran.
