John J. McCabe, 64, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin died at his home on Thursday, May 31, 2007. He was born on January 2, 1943 in Belvedere, Illinois, the son of Raymond and Lillian (Streit) McCabe. John served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS Constellation from 1960 until 1966. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and yard work. 
 
John is survived by his wife, Judy Johnson McCabe of Eau Claire, WI; his sons Jay (Sarah) McCabe of Eau Claire, WI, and Richard McCabe; step-sons, Eric W. (Tammy) Johnson of Elk Mound, WI, Paul S. (Julie) Johnson of Barron, WI, and Karl R. Johnson (Fiancée, Jen Mundt) of Tempe, AZ. He is further survived by 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and his sister, Lillian (Don) Kobischka and one brother-in-law, Ken Nelson.

 
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mary Nelson and brother, Raymond McCabe. 
  
A memorial fund will be established in John's name.
 
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 4, 2007 at Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home with Father John Schultz of St. James Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be at a later date in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Harvard, Illinois. 
 
Friends may call for one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
