James W. Merritt, age 17 of Woodbury, Minnesota died on May 14, 2007. While returning home from work he was fatally struck by another driver.
 
James took pride in his job at Cub Foods. He loved watching the Twins, he was a friend to everyone - everyone's friend and he was an awesome son and brother.
 
James is survived by his father, William Merritt of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, his mother, Beth Merritt, his sister, Katie Merritt, both of Woodbury, Minnesota, his grandmother, Sue Merritt and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather James Merritt and grandfather and grandmother, Loren and Lorena Haugen.
