Thomas "Tom" Michels, 75, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin died June 10, 2007 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, Minnesota. He was enjoying doing exactly what he loved, being at the lake.
 
Tom was born on January 23, 1932, the son of Joseph and Catherine Michels.
 
   He married Margaret Owen on June 18, 1955. Tom served his country in the Army, helicopter division, during the Korean War. He worked at Uniroyal beginning in 1953.
 
Tom enjoyed trap shooting, shooting with the geezers, fishing, hunting and spending time with family and all his special friends.

 
He is survived by his wife, Margaret "Peg", his children; Cindy Berg (Tom), Kathy Michels (Gene Heisler), Shelly Collins (Mark), grandchildren; Jennifer and Candace Berg and Jesse and Matthew Collins, his brother, Richard Michels, extended family Wendy and Justin Peloquin and his hunting buddy, Zoe. He is further survived by his inlaws; Raymond Owen (Marge), Harry Owen (Janice), Jean Christner, Judy Conrad and Alice Owen, nieces, nephews and a lot of special friends.
 
He was preceded in death by his Mother and Dad, brothers, Ralph and Vaughn, three sister-in-laws and 2 brother-in-laws.
 
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2007 at St. Olaf's Catholic Church with Father Konopa officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday at Holy Guardian Angel Cemetery in Brackett, where Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 53. Friends may call at Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. followed by a 7:00 p.m. prayer service. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. 
 
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family in Tom's name for a special project in his honor.
