William A. Nelson, 93, of Eau Claire Wisconsin, passed away July 12th surrounded by family. He was born January 1, 1914 to William J. Nelson and Olive (Blair) Nelson in Williams, Iowa. Bill, one of seven children, grew up on a farm in southern Minnesota. He attended school in Dodge Center. He married Ona Kellar on September 28, 1936. They recently celebrated their 70th anniversary! 
 

He was associated with Kraft foods for 35 years and was vice-president of sales. He received the Jade Ring award for outstanding service from Kraft in 1962. From 1973-1984, he was president and general manager of Huntsinger Farms Inc.- Silver Spring Gardens Inc. Here in Eau Claire, Bill served as a board member for various organizations and companies. He was a member of the Board of Directors as follows: Ayres Associates, American National Bank and Trust Company, First Interstate Banks, Chippewa Valley Boy Scout Council, Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce, National Food Distributors Association, and National Association of Independent Business. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, Medinah Shrine, and the First Congregational United Church of Christ. 

 
Retirement years were spent in Naples, Florida and Eau Claire, Wisconsin, returning permanently to Eau Claire in 2002. 
 
He is survived by his wife Ona Nelson, two sons, Bill (Linda), Daryl (Amy) and one sister, Edna. Also surviving Bill are six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Grandchildren; Deborah Stuckert, Deanna Nelson, Leigh Fatzinger, Peter Nelson, Henry Nelson, and Jack Nelson. Great-grandsons; William and Maxwell Stuckert.
 
Preceding him in death was daughter, Donna Fatzinger, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
 
Memorial Services will be at 11:00 am on Friday August 24, 2007 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Eau Claire. Pastor Dr. Mark X. Pirazzini will officiate. There will be no public visitation prior to the services. Burial will be in the First Congregational Memorial Garden prior to services.
