Mary Rita Rheingans, 87, formerly of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at Comforts of Home in Hudson, Wisconsin.
She was born May 25, 1920 on the family farm in Conception, Minnesota, the daughter of Mike and Josie
Feehan. She graduated from Kellogg High School in Kellogg, MN in 1938. She attended Winona Teacher's College in Winona, Minnesota. Mary taught in one room schools in Kellogg and Homer, Minnesota and at St. Olaf School and Immaculate Conception School in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She retired from teaching in 1973.
Mary always followed her former students throughout their lives. She was very proud of their accomplishments.

Mary worked at an airplane factory in Seattle, WA during WW II with her sister, Lucille. She owned and operated Northward Court Motel with her husband, Glenn. Mary and Glenn Rheingans were married on October 16, 1944 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
She is survived by her children: Carol (Ray) Fortuna, Gary (Carol Sue) Rheingans, Dr. Anne Harel and Mary (Bob) Bowe, 5 grandsons, 1 granddaughter and 6 great-granddaughters. She is further survived by her sister-in-laws: Marge Rheingans and Arlis Feehan, and by her brother-in-law: Harold Greer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn, her parents, Josie and Mike Feehan, her brothers, Marvin, Bernard, Raymond and Michael Feehan and her sister, Lucille.
Mary was currently a resident of Comforts of Home in Hudson. She was loved by the residents and employees. Mary always had a smile and a good sense of humor.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2007 at Immaculate Conception Church, 1712 Highland Avenue, Eau Claire, Wisconsin, with Father Klink officiating, burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road in Eau Claire, on Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. followed by a 6:00 p.m. prayer service. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
