Doris R. Rohde, 80, died Sunday, May 6, 2007 at the M. B. Syverson Nursing Home in Eau Claire. Doris was born on May 10, 1926 to Louise (Goodmanson) and Oscar B. Olson in Chetek, Wisconsin. She graduated from Chetek High School in 1944. After graduation she attended the Milwaukee Accredited School of Cosmetology. She worked 13 years at the Modern Beauty Shop and then at the Hotel Eau Claire Beauty Shop. Doris quit her job in 1963 when she married Ray W. Rohde who had two adopted children, Bob and Mary Ann. Doris did volunteer work in the beauty shop at the M.B. Syverson Nursing Home for nearly 30 years. Doris also scheduled volunteers for the Wonder Wagon. She enjoyed sewing beautiful clothes for herself and Mary Ann. She even knitted sweaters for a period of time. 

 
Doris was a member of First Lutheran Church of Eau Claire and was active in the women's circle. She was also a life member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 305.
 
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray in 1997, her sister Betty (James) Machlett, a brother Bernard Olson and an infant sister Beatrice. She is survived by her daughter Mary Ann (Roy) Christopherson of Eau Claire, WI; Son Robert Rohde of Minneapolis, MN; nieces Nancy (Machlett) Meyer of Eau Claire, WI; Nan (Olson) Ora Hetchler of Chetek, WI; Marjorie (Rhode) Bill Kelly of DePere, WI; Laura (Rohde) Brian Johnson of Holcomb, WI; nephews Gary (Kathy) Machlett of DePere, WI; Bud (Beth) Olson of Onalaska, WI; Jeff (Gail) Olson of New Auburn, WI; Tony (Julie) Olson of Eau Claire, WI; Bart (Shelly) Olson of New Auburn, WI; William (Ann) Rohde of Bartlett, IL; John (Tina) Rohde of Eau Claire, WI and of course her favorite brother and sister-in-laws, William and Beverly Rohde of Barnes, WI.
 
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 11, 2007 at First Lutheran Church in Eau Claire with Pastor Amy Odgren officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire. Friends may call at M.B. Syverson Home from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening. Friends may also call at the church on Friday for one hour prior to the service.
