Gerald spent 20 years with American National Bank in Eau Claire, where he was Senior Vice President & Cashier along with being on the Board of Directors. After leaving the bank in 1977, he and Nancy started an antique shop, and a very popular pumpkin patch at their home in Eau Claire, where thousands of children had a wonderful time.
In 1995, following a dream, Gerry and Nancy along with their son and his family purchased a 160-acre farm along the Red Cedar River in Chetek. They raised sheep, beef cattle and many crops. They also had a new pumpkin patch and petting zoo and enjoyed entertaining children and their families each fall. They relished every day on the farm and were never so happy.
Gerry and Nancy were married for 53 years and had the last 30 years to work together side-by-side, doing what they enjoyed…….it was a wonderful life!
Gerald is survived by his wife Nancy, four daughters and one son- Paula (John) Vogler, Eau Claire, Jackie (Andy) Bethel, Wausau, Rebecca (Luke) Anderson, Vadnais Heights, MN, Elizabeth (Todd) Wadzinski, Wausau, David (Robin) Schultz, Chetek, nine grandchildren- Bryan and Brittany Bethel, Nathaniel and Jared Anderson, Benjamin (Kristin), Joshua and Erin Gille (Elizabeth), Zachary and Kiersten Schultz and his beloved cat Peanut. His parents preceded him in death.
Friends may offer condolences online at www.fullerspeckien.com. Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home in Eau Claire is assisting the family with the arrangements.
