Gladys Shannon, 87, of Eau Claire died Monday, November 19, 2007 at Dove Health Care Center. She was born June 22, 1920 in Eau Claire, the daughter of Carl and Inga Pedersen.
Gladys was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church. She graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1937. She moved to California in 1945 and worked for Mobil Oil until her marriage to Robert Shannon on April 7, 1962. She then resided in Oregon until Robert's death in 1973, when she moved back to Eau Claire. Gladys was employed in the Social Security Office in Eau Claire. She was a life member of First Lutheran Church, the Sons of Norway, and a member of
NARFE. She enjoyed golfing, fishing, going to the casino and being with her family.

Gladys is survived by two sisters-in-law, Beulah Pedersen and Dorothy Pedersen, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Marvin, Einar, Trygve and Harvey Pedersen, and two sisters, Cornelia Anderson and Olga Martin.
Memorials can be directed to First Lutheran Church, 1005 Oxford Ave. Eau Claire, WI.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church on Saturday, November 24, with Pastor Kerr. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services. Burial will be at the Norwegian Lutheran Cemetery.
