Todd Kirk Stien, 31, formerly of Eau Claire,
Wisconsin died April 1, 2007 as a result of a
motor vehicle accident.
Todd was born in Eau Claire on February 25,
1976, the son of Dr. Kim and Lorann (Meilahn)
Stien. Todd attended Eau Claire schools,
graduating from Memorial High School in 1994.
He was co-valedictorian of his graduating
class. He swam competitively for many years.
His senior year at Memorial he was team
captain and state champion in the 200 and 500
freestyle. He attended Tufts University where
he continued to swim competitively, receiving
many awards and serving as team captain his
senior year.
After graduation in 1998 he entered Law School at Emory University, graduating in 2001. Since graduation he has practiced law with the firm of Stein and Ward, Attorneys at Law, Atlanta, Georgia, specializing in criminal defense. In April 2005, he married Annie Bollini in
Hiawasse, Georgia.

He is survived by his parents, Dr. Kim and Lorann Stien of Eau Claire, a brother, Dr. John Stien, Eau Claire, a sister, Dr. Ann Schwartz and her husband Steve, Atlanta, Georgia, a nephew and niece, Jackson and Catherine Schwartz of Atlanta, one grandparent, Bonita Stien, Stevens Point, WI, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2007 at the University Lutheran Church in the Ecumenical Religious Center, 110 Garfield, Eau Claire, on the campus of the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire with Pastors Charles Gavin and Donald Wisner officiating. Please park in the Hibbard parking lot. A reception will be held in Davies Center immediately following the service. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home. There will be no visitation prior to services on Friday at the Church.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be given Todd's name to University Lutheran Church, 110 Garfield Ave. Eau Claire, WI 54701 or the Eau Claire Humane Association, 3900 Old Town Hall Road, Eau Claire, WI 54701 or
the Todd Stien Memorial Fund to benefit Memorial High School Men's Swimming and Diving Team, Charter Bank, 1010 W. Clairemont Avenue, Eau Claire, WI 54701.
