Louise M. Swanson passed away on Thursday, November 22nd, 2007 at Care Partners Assisted Living in Eau Claire, just seven days short of her 89th Birthday.
Memorial services will be at 11 am on Tuesday November 27, 2007 at Fuller Speckien Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road, Eau Claire, WI. Pastor Paul Sullivan of Ascension Evangelical Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Grace Lutheran Church Cemetery in the West Sweden Township, Polk County, Wisconsin at a later date. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 10 am until the time of services. There will be no public viewing.

Louise Marion Swanson was born on November 29, 1919 to Edith and Gilbert Nelson in Superior, Wisconsin.
When Louise was two years old, her father died suddenly and her mother Edith moved the family to Frederic, WI and lived on Spirit Lake where she spent most of her life. Louise graduated from the Union Free High School in Frederic in 1936. She then went on to Superior State College where she received her Bachelor of Science and her Master Degrees. Louise taught school in Frederic and Grantsburg for 41 years.
Louise married Leroy "Pete" Peterson in 1941 and to that union their son Brian was born.
Louise and Pete enjoyed playing canasta and poker with their friends and neighbors. The poker group played together for over 30 years.
Her husband Leroy "Pete" passed away in 1973. After her retirement from teaching, she married Ralph Simonsen. Louise Spent many wonderful winters in Mesa, Arizona and also in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
Louise belonged to the Polk Burnett Retired Teachers Association. She was also a member of the Frederic Historical Society. She was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Frederic and also attended Ascension Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.
Louise loved to travel and play cards.
Louise was preceded in death by her Parents, Gilbert and Edith (Bergman) Nelson, her stepfather, Willie Johnson, her brother Noble Nelson, and his wife Margaret. She was also preceded in death by her second husband Ralph Simonsen. She is survived by her son Brian (Bonnie Harper), sister-in-law Frances (Willys) Thomson of New Richmond, nieces and nephews from both the Nelson and the Peterson families and many special Bergman cousins.
Memorials may be given in Louise's name to the Frederic Historical Society or the Walk for Life for cancer survivors. A very special thank you to
