Albert Christ Thiel, 94, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin died January 22, 2007 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. Albert was born April 14, 1912 in Medford, Wisconsin the son of Emil and Amelia (Arndt)
Thiel. In 1941 he married Alice Brumberg. Alice preceded him in death in 1982. Albert did logging in Medford and then worked as a lineman for REA (Rural Electric Association). He retired at the age of 55. He married Isla Dodge Lyon on October 1, 1984. Albert was a member of
IBEW, Moose Lodge, and First Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, following the Cavalier Baseball Team, woodworking and traveling.

In addition to his first wife Alice, he was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Chester, Harold and Otto and a daughter, Donna Mattson. He is survived by his wife, Isla, daughter Karen (Jim) Severson, his son Daryl (Elizabeth) Thiel, step-daughter Jacqueline Peters, step-son Dale (Barbara) Lyon, 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family request that memorials be made to the United Cerebral Palsy Association.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 26, 2007 at First Lutheran Church with The Reverend Dr. Duane C. Pederson officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. Friends may call at Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening and at the church on Friday one hour prior to the service.
