Frank Weingart, age 88, of Eau Claire died Wednesday evening, September 5, 2007 surrounded by family at his home.
|
Frank was born September 3, 1919 in Chicago, IL., son of Aloys and Erna
Weingart. He was an accomplished athlete in both boxing and baseball. Frank met the love of his life, Bette, while they were both employed by the Chicago Daily Times. They were married on Valentines Day, 1942.

Frank served in the Army Air Corps as a surgical technician for four years during World War II. After his discharge, he and Bette remained in Chicago where they started raising their family of five sons. |
Frank and Bette moved their family to Eau Claire in 1961 while Frank was working as a Board Certified Sanitarian and Supervisor for the Chicago Board of Health. Frank loved to travel extensively throughout America and Europe with his family. |

Survivors include sons Bob (Mary) of Eau Claire, Deacon Jim (Kay) of Durand, Bud (Cindy) of Eagan, MN, Tim, and Tom (Pam) of Eau Claire; six grandchildren, Heidi, Zach, Gretchen (Matt Johnson), Katherine, Bailey and Madison; two great-grandchildren, Ayden and Bryce. Besides his wife, Bette, he was preceded in death by his parents; nine brothers and sisters.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday September 11, 2007 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Father Eugene Klink and Monsignor Edmund Klimek will officiate. Entombment will follow at the Chapel of The Resurrection Mausoleum in Eau Claire. Friends may call at church on Tuesday afternoon from 2 pm until the time of services.
