Raymond William Zempel, age 70 of Eau Claire, died November 20, 2007 at Care Partners in Eau Claire.

Raymond was born on August 4, 1937 to William and Ethel
(Higbe) Zempel in Eau Claire. He was raised in Eau Claire and graduated from Memorial High School. Raymond was married and resided in Janesville and Fall Creek. He was employed at the Fall Creek Post Office until his retirement.
Raymond married Ethel Erdman on May 28, 1966 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Foster. Ethel died January 9, 1989. He married Mary Marfell-Drinkman on February 23, 1991 at Lake Street United Methodist Church in Eau Claire. He and Mary moved to Chippewa Falls in 1993.
Raymond was a member of the Fall Creek Lions Club where he served as past-president and the Moose Lodge in Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire where he participated with the Moose Singers. Raymond also sang in with the Eau Claire male choir.

Raymond is survived by: his wife, Mary, Eau Claire; his daughter, Pamela (James) Turner, Louisville, KY; step-daughter, Linda (Jeff) Olson, Mosinee; step sons, Thomas (Tammy) Drinkman, Eau Claire, Robert (Shelley) Drinkman, New Richmond, WI; and Richard (Amy) Drinkman, Midway, GA; sister, Lois Moucha, Janesville; and grandchild, Khaira Turner and step grandchildren, Elizabeth, Tiffany, Eric, Nathan, Brandan, and Hailey; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patricia; and step-son, David Drinkman.
A memorial services for Raymond will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at Lake Street United Methodist Church, 337 Lake Street, Eau Claire, WI with Pastor Cathy L. Hamblin officiating. Friends may call at church one hour prior to services. Burial will be at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Foster, WI.
