George L. Betley, age 80 of Eau Claire, passed away Tuesday February 5, 2008 at his home.
George was born October 2, 1927 to John and Bernice (Busch) Betley in Barron, WI. He completed ten years of education and then served his country in the United States Army. On December 1, 1950, George married Gloria Spielman in Stillwater, MN. He was a baker at Randall's in Eau Claire. George enjoyed gardening, hunting, and spending time at the lake.

Survivors include his sisters, Clara Sather (Barron, WI), Frances (Orval) Bauch (Barron, WI) and Ann Long (Chicago); step-son Michael (JoAnn) Russell (Eau Claire); grandchildren, Kimberly (Brian) Korenuk (Altoona), Scott (Lisa) Russell (Waukesha, WI), and Daniel Russell (Eau Claire); great-grandchildren, Janessa, Alex, Jacob, Colin, and Brynn. His parents, wife Gloria, and 5 brothers and 4 sisters preceded him in death.
There will be no public services. Burial will be in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
