Charles Edmund Burce, 87, of Eau Claire died Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Luther Hospital.

Charles was born May 25, 1920 to Charles and Alma
Burce. He was one of six children. After graduating from Eau Claire High School, he went into the service. He was in Wisconsin National Guard from January
1937 to October 1940 as part of the Machine Gun Troop 105th Cavalry. He then entered the Army of the United States from October 1940 through November 1941 in the Battery D 126FA 32nd Division, and then the United States Regular Army Corp from Nov. 1941 through November 1945. |
He met and married Ruby Crumpler on January 19, 1945 while stationed at Seymour Johnson Air Force base in Goldsboro, NC. Charles returned to Eau Claire after the service. He was employed at Presto and Graphic Printing Co. until his retirement. Charles was a founding club member of the Chippewa Valley Antique Engine and Model Club. He was one of the founders of the Chippewa Valley Weapons Collectors. He was an avid thrift
saler, and gun & tool collector. He enjoyed family get togethers and his morning coffee get togethers at McDonalds.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby, daughter Cheryl Burce, brother, the Reverend Dr. Willard
(Elinor) Burce, sister-in-law, Maeonne Burce, and nieces and nephews. |

Charles is preceded in death by son, Robert, parents, Charles and Alma
Burce, brothers, Sheridan (Dora) Burce and John Burce, sisters: Doris (Lawrence) Olsen and Phyllis (Clem) Sherman.
Funeral services will be on Monday, March 31, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Drammen Lutheran Church,
Town of Drammen in Eau Claire County with Pastor Kathryn Gauger officiating. Friends and family may visit at
Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road, Eau Claire, WI from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2008 and again Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Burial will be in the Brunswick Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by American Legion Post #53.
Memorials may be given in Charles' name to the charity of the donor's choice.
