I have several fond memories of Grandma that I will always treasure, but one memory stands out. While visiting the farm in Wisconsin when I was around 6 or 7, Grandma and I went walking after dinner one evening. (probably after eating those delicious pedogies she always made) It was just her and I. And I remember just loving to talk to her and listen to her stories. And she loved to hear me talk and listen to mine! It was growing dark and I remember we turned around, and on the way back we kept seeing a dark lump in the road grow bigger as we walked closer. It wasn't moving but it looked awfully suspicious. After realizing it was a frog, Grandma decided to walk right up to it, bend and lean down as close as she could and whisper in that frogs ears, 'Are you dead little, frog?' No response. She asked again, 'Froggie, are you dead?" Before she could even spit out the last word, that frog came to life and hopped so high it almost hit her right in the nose! We both screamed and laughed so hard we were crying all the way back to the farm. That's what I will never forget about her; her laugh, her spirit, her faithfulness and her dedication. I am truly blessed to be a part of her heritage. I know God already had a beautiful mansion waiting for her with her name on it. And I know that is where she wants to be.
