Ed French Carter, age 76 of Eau Claire, went home to be with the Lord on March 10, 2008. He was born in Woodward, Oklahoma on March 29, 1931 to Noah Carter and Leona Myers-Carter of Port, Oklahoma. He was employed by K-Mart in Menomonie, Wisconsin for 23 years. Ed retired on March 29, 1995. He loved bowling. 
 
Ed is survived by his brother Delmar (Genevie) Carter of Zavalla, Texas; sister Judy Olson of Eau Claire; two half-sisters, Wanda (Ralph) Howell of Arkansas and Josephine (Bob) Hinkle of Arizona; two step-children Donna Loew of Eau Claire, Steve (Terresa) Lane of Orville, California; several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews and special friend, Edan Shaw.

 
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Violet Carter; brother Jack Carter; half sister, Dorothy Hines; and step-sons, David Lane, LaVerne Lane and Lois Kappus.
 
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2007 at Birch Street Baptist Church, 3120 Birch Street (Hwy QQ), Eau Claire, with Pastor Tim Hallett, Jr. officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire.
