Howard Cruger, 93, beloved father, grandfather, and man who loved God went home to be with his lord December 17, 2008.
He was born July 26, 1915 in Norrie, WI to Moses and Ella Cruger and grew up on a farm near Waupaca. At the age of 20, gave his heart and life to Jesus, going on to graduate from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, where he met and married the love of his life, Annabel. He went on to pastor several upstart churches in Michigan and Wisconsin, later moving his family to Eau Claire in 1957, becoming a full time Fuller Brush dealer for the next 50 years. The last four years of his life were spent in Roscoe, IL with his daughter Marnie and family, where he attended Hope Evangelical Free Church. |

Howard's life was full of ministry, sharing his faith in Jesus as he traveled door to door throughout west-central Wisconsin with his Fuller Brush products. He literally knew how to stop and smell the roses and had the gift for growing huge colorful flowers that brightened up his yard, attracting many people to slow down to see the awesome display.
Howard is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Annabel; his brother, Arthur (Mable); and sister, Irene. He is survived by his children, Carol Hasledalen (Gorden), Marnie McAvoy (Dan), Paul Cruger, Daniel Cruger (Penny); and sister Myrtle Lambert.
Howard was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and loved by many friends and neighbors.
A funeral service will at held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Grace Baptist Church in Hallie. Friends may call at Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Monday evening and again at church one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Town of Washington.
Memorials can be made in the name of KVI Orphanage or United Cerebral Palsy.
