At least two of Eunice A. Gavin’s ancestors were immigrants from Norway. Hence, she had several second cousins and other relatives in Norway, among them my mother. I met Eunice in her home three times when visiting USA, for the first time in 1990, last time six months ago. For a period we corresponded. Her letters were very interesting and confirmed the clear impression of a very active, talented and hard-working grand old lady of the family. Some members of my Norwegian family have also had the pleasure to meet or correspond with some of her descendants. I want to send on my condolences to all of Aunt Eunice's many loved ones. I was so lucky to spend time with her and Chuck during many of the winters they spent in AZ since they were close to Mom and Dad (Olive and Arlee). She had a special relationship with both of them--with lots of jokes and smiles and letters during the summer. She brought out a side of my mother I'd never seen, a giggling, silly girlish person who couldn't stop smiling. I am so grateful to Aunt Eunice for getting that part of Mom to shine; it was a gift to me as well as to Mom. Of course, I also loved her for her smile and her warmth. Love to you all, Linda

Chuck, Sally, and Eunice's extended family...I just heard today about your Mom's death and have read the obituary. Seeing her picture brings back many memories...the first time I met her in your Onalaska home back in 1979...conversations with her along with laughter at various events over the years...and more. I treasure the lily of the valley painting she gave me for Christmas 1980. She was special and I am blessed to have known her and shared her gentle spirit, her sparkling smile, and her deep and abiding faith. I am grateful to God that she enriched my life.
