They returned to Wisconsin in 1945 to raise their two daughters in Altoona. After many years as a devoted mother, June returned to complete her Teaching Degree at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1973. June and William decided to settle in Eau Claire in 1974.
After the passing of husband William, June met Edward Germain of Chippewa Falls while on a Florida vacation. After purchasing several cookbooks from June, they were married in Eau Claire on February 14, 1999.
June was very active with many community groups including Friendly Visitors, Re-DOT's, and numerous bridge groups. Within Trinity Lutheran Church she was active in many groups and committees; including the woman's and retirement groups. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School, confirmation, and Bethel Bible Study.
Survived by daughters- Zee Ann (Richard) Podliska, Kathryn (Dale) Larson, and stepson Wayne (Diana) Germain; Grandchildren- Anne (Ron) Erickson, Stephanie (Alex) Batchelder, Richard W. Podliska, Mia (Philip) Hebert, Bradley (Katherine) Podliska, and Meghan (Keith) Ramsay; Great-grandchildren- Paige Erickson, Ryan Erickson, Logan Hebert, Cooper Batchelder, Mitchell Hebert, Chase Batchelder, Victoria Hebert, Brett Batchelder, and Blythe Batchelder.
Also survived by Douglas Schmoekel, Richard (Lena) Schmoekel, Mary Jean Carlson, Elaine Ness, Susan Schmoekel, and many dear friends- especially Rose Sipple.
Preceded in death by husband William F. Doescher and Edward Germain; and family Harold (Mildred) Schmoekel, Duane (Muriel) Ness, Rodger (Fern) Ness, Vaughn Ness, Jordan Carlson, and Mary Schmoekel.

Funeral Services will be at 10 am on Wednesday September 17, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. Pastor Kurt Jacobson will officiate. Burial will take place later that afternoon at 1:00 pm in Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire. Friends may call at Fuller Speckien Hulke Funeral Home today from 4-8 pm and on Wednesday morning at the church from 9 am until the time of services.
