Ione was born to Christian and Anna Nelson on October 10, 1913, in the town of Glendive, Montana. On May 11, 1941 Ione married her husband Edward Gorell in Eau Claire. Ione was famous for knitting Barbie clothes, cutting snowflakes and her sweet apple pies.
Ione is survived by children, Linda (Ken) Anderson of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, Dennis Gorell of Altoona, Paula Menard of Eau Claire, and Judy (James) Culver of Chippewa Falls; grandchildren, Anna (Randy)
