Hadn't seen you for some time and so had no idea that John was so ill. It is always hard to lose a wonderful person such as John and you have our deepest sympathy on your loss. Although we have always been impressed by you and John, we learned a lot about John from his obituary. You were a companion to a very accomplished man! Again, our deepest sympathy on your loss, Ami & Peter

Maurine picked a wonderful guy when she married John. It was an honor of the highest order to know John and especially to be part of his extended family. He had such a full and accomplished life and he brought so much joy into the world by being such a wonderful guy and he brought an abundance of joy via his children. For me, JoAnn, Fernando, Pacha, Rob, Mauda, Jamie, and now Harlow are not only my cousins; they’re my friends who have greatly enriched my life and the lives of so many others. I don’t know John (Susana Cinelli), Jim, Jacqueline,(Tony)Freitas, Judy (Tom) Olson, or Valeria quite as well, but on our few occasions together, I found them all equally wonderful to visit. Thank you John for all the joy you brought into the world.

Judy (and Tom), we wish to express our sympathy for the death of your father. He certainly was an active man in his lifetime. I'm sure you were very proud of him and his accomplishments. May God bless you for your part in his care. "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." We have this consolation and can look forward to seeing him again in heaven. Clearly, John Hoeppner's life is one to be celebrated. His family was indeed fortunate to have him with them for so long. And I was among the lucky ones in California to be able to know him for even a little while.

To Maurine and all the Hoeppner family -- Our hearts are with you in this sad time. John was such a sweet and wonderful person. I know he must have been so proud of his children and grandchildren. It was always such a treat when Grandma and Grandpa came to visit in Bethesda. Its so wonderful that he was able to see Harlow, his great- granddaughter. I hope memories of the happy family times you shared will comfort you in the days ahead. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Love, Barbara Hadley and John Burke

Dear Hoeppner Family, We were so very saddened to learn of John's passing a short time ago. We got to know John just a little bit at Rob and Mauda's wedding, and felt then that he was a very dear person. Of course Rob speaks of his grandparents often, with great love, we might add. So, we know it is not an easy time for all of you. What a blessing it must be to have such a large and beautifully loving family. You are blessed. Our love and deepest sympathy, The Hueni's-- Patti, Greg, Sarah and Emily

Maruine and Jackie and family I am so sorry to read about John. I do not get to this site very often but when I do there is always someone from Lake St Church that I know. Lola and Bill both died 10 years ago in 1998, Dad just before our class union. I remember all the fun times we had in church school and church activities. We were very close for a long time. But life takes us away from family and friends, but one never forgets all the fun times we enjoyed together as church family and other outings. My deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family in this time of sorrow. Susie Gagin ( Class of 1963)
