He was born August 24, 1928 in Titonka, Iowa to Ellis and Jesse (Good) Jain. He grew up near Elk Lake and attended school in Elk Mound, Wisconsin. He was unable to complete high school due to hearing loss from an infection but was determined and knowledgeable about many topics. His intelligence was exceeded only by his strongly held opinions.

Bob married his sweetheart Mary Ann Bennett on October 15, 1949 at First Baptist Church in Eau Claire. He worked at the Presto plant and then for this father-in-law Lawrence Bennett delivering ice and them local trucking. He eventually operated his own business Jain's trucking until his retirement.

Bob was friendly and loved to talk, tell stories and brag about his family to anyone who would listen. Helping others was a constant for him, especially using his trucks or repairing the homes of those who could not do it themselves. He loved children and volunteered regularly to work in the church nursery where several children at a time would sit on "Grandpa's" lap.

His life was about work and his "Hobbies" had to be productive. He built furniture for his family, raised chickens, and huge gardens, kept bees, and returned frequently to the old family farm where he grew up to assist and cut wood and also was an amateur inventor.

Salem Baptist Church was special to him where he was a charter member and helped build the physical building, held positions for many years and worked countless hours.

Robert is survived by his Wife, Mary Ann of Eau Claire, three sons, Kenneth (Cynthia) of Fall Creek, WI; David (Rosemary) of Eau Claire; Steven (Sarah) of San Francisco, CA; one brother Merrill (Myrna) of Elk Mound, WI; six sisters Elsie (Melvin) Meyer of Elk Mound, WI; Mary Ellen (Eddy) Meyer of Cedar Rapids, IA; Dorothy (Joseph) Winek of Milwaukee, Evelyn (Robert) Johnson of Cambridge, MN, Carol (Joseph) Mc Cleod of Fort Worth, TX, Bernita (Cecil) Colthrop of Fruitport, MI, seven grandchildren, Kimberly (John) of Hugo, MN, Christopher (Kelly) Jain of Portland, OR, Joseph (Amy) Jain of Trego, WI, Jake (Andrea) of Centuria, WI, Jackie (Ed) De Rocha of Madara CA, Heidi O'Mara of Stillwater, MN, Mollie O'Mara of Stillwater, MN, seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
