| Helen Susan Kinville, 91, of Eau Claire, passed away on Sunday morning, September 21, 2008, at Chippewa Manor Nursing Home. |
Susan, as she preferred to be known, was born in Toledo, Ohio, on August 29, 1917, to William and Anne (Simpson)
Brownmiller. Susan earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Toledo in 1940 graduating with honors. She taught school in Palmer and Negaunee, Michigan, and taught seventh grade English, Social Studies, and Home Economics at Central Junior High School in Eau Claire. Later in life she also worked at Sunburst Youth Homes and Delong Junior High School in Eau Claire. She retired from education in 1985 due to her health. She truly loved teaching and believed in life-long learning. She was united in marriage to John C. Kinville October 21, 1941, in Marquette, Michigan. They had five children and resided many years in Eau Claire. |

Survivors include sons, A. Joseph Kinville (Carolyn) Scottsdale, Arizona; David W. Kinville (Barbara) Green Bay, Wisconsin; John D. Kinville (Carolyn) Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin; James Kinville (Claudia) Burnsville, Minnesota; and daughter Suzanne Kent (James), Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Survivors also include grandchildren David M. Kinville (Sandrine), Lisa Kinville, Tristi Crawford (Michael), John E. Kinville (Kara), Elizabeth Vu (Tu), Michael Kinville, and Patrick Kinville; Step-granddaughters Leda Wagner (Todd) and Liza Wall (Cory); Great-grandchildren Alayna Crawford, Isaac Crawford, John F. "Jack" Kinville, Jonathan Skora and Savannah Skora; sisters Marjorie O'Brien and Phyllis Hatton, and several Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John C. Kinville.
Visitation will be held at Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 from 6:00-7:00 p.m., with a 7:00 p.m. funeral service. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Marquette, Michigan, on Friday, September 26, 2008. In lieu of flowers, please make charitable donations to the Friends of the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library, American Heart Association, Salvation Army or charity of your choice. Mom was the center of our family and will be greatly missed.
