Ruth M. Larson died peacefully at home on March 26, 2008.
She was born January 25, 1933 in Vayland, South Dakota to James W. and Vera (Gregory) Van
Schaick.
She spent her early years in South Dakota and Minnesota. Ruth graduated from the Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, Minnesota and went on to a career as a Registered Nurse. She was employed at Sacred Heart Hospital as an R.N. from 1971 to her retirement in 1990.
She met her husband in Yellowstone National Park where they both were employed, she as a nurse and he as a park ranger. They married on May 14, 1960 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. |

Ruth was a wonderful mother, grandma, and loving companion. Through all that life has to throw at her, she came through it all without complaint.
She is survived by her husband John, a daughter, Kippy (Dan) Ruhe-Parroni, four grandchildren, Nick and Amanda Ruhe, Amber and Alexa Parroni, and one great-grandson, Dylan Ruhe.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her son, Kirk M. Larson.
