Demus “Dick” Lee, age 79, passed away on December 28, 2008, in Mesa, Arizona.
 

  
Dick was born February 18, 1929, on Billy’s Island in Georgia’s Okefinokee Swamp, the son of Jackson and Mattie Lee. Dick married Naomi Tandberg on September 18, 1948, at First Baptist Church in Eau Claire, WI. They lived in Eau Claire for 45 years until Naomi’s death on November 11, 1993.
 
Dick served in the U.S. (Army) Air Force, joining at the age of 17. After being honorably discharged, he married, worked at Uniroyal for nearly 30 years, and served as a part-time deputy sheriff for Eau Claire County.   
   

Dick loved to hunt, fish, and camp with his family, grandchildren, and friends. He lived the past 10 years on Pokegama Lake in Chetek, WI, with Donna Davey, where they greatly enjoyed fishing and relaxing around the campfire. Dick also loved to play his guitar and sing “old-time” songs and hymns at home and at “jam sessions” with his many close friends.
 
Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi; father and mother Jackson and Mattie Lee; and brothers and sisters: Marion, Ealey, Harrison, Mary, Rose, Elizabeth, Josephine, Jessie, Raymond, Hauley, Susan, and Daniel.
 
Dick is survived by two sons; David (Janice) Lee, and Kenneth (Karen) Lee; five grandchildren: Brian (Lara) Lee, Brent Lee, Amber (Adrian) Bricker, Tara (Josef) Haas, and Lindsay (Steven) Matuszewski; three great-grandchildren: Francis Lee, Lleyton Haas, and Logan Haas; one brother, Simon (Faith) Lee; and his beloved Donna Davey.
 
Funeral services will be at the Pentecostal Assembly Church at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, with Pastor Paul Bennett officiating. Friends may call at the Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home in Eau Claire on Friday, January 2, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and at the church one hour prior to the time of the service on Saturday. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery immediately following service with military honors being conducted by American Legion #53.
