Irene Flynn Leszcynski, age 94 of Eau Claire, died at her residence December 31, 2008.
Irene was born on February 18, 1914, in Superior, Wisconsin, the daughter of William and Anna
(Ashlin) Flynn. She graduated high school in Superior, Wisconsin. On July 23, 1938, she married Stephen Leszcynski in Superior, Wisconsin. In 1967, Irene and Stephen moved to Eau Claire. Stephen died on March 25, 1986, after 48 years of marriage to Irene.
Irene loved playing cards, fishing, traveling, and volunteering at Sacred Heart Hospital. |

She is survived by her sister, Donna Mattero; nieces, Nancy (Kevin) Kreppein, Sally (Dick) Neubauer, and Kathy (Rick) Hood; nephews, Michael Lang, Dennis (Sue) Lang, Dave (Theresa) Lang, Dan Lang, and Kenny (Rhonda) Lang.
Irene is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stephen; brother, Patrick Flynn; and sister, Margaret Lang.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2009, at the Sacred Heart Hospital Chapel. Monsignor E. Klemek will officiate. Inurnment will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Eau Claire, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Sacred Heart Hospital or to a charity of the donor's choice.
