Ray L. Lewis, age 75 of Elk Mound, died Sunday, June 1, 2008 at his residence.

Ray was born September 28, 1932 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, the son of LeRoy and Lucy
(Nicolet) Lewis. He married Jean M. Goetz on November 27, 1960. Ray served in the United States Army for five years. A dairy farmer for many years, Ray continued his career at Menards working as forklift operator since 1986. He loved and cared for his children and grandchildren very much. |
Ray is survived by one sister, Dorothy Moore (Eau Claire); best friend and coworker, Marie Sell (Jim Falls); three children, Shirrel (Frederick) Kastel (Eau Claire), Lavonne (Mark) Lutzen (Elk Mound), and Chuck (Paula) Lewis (Bozeman, MT); eleven grandchildren, (Sherry's) Nicole
(fiance Dickie Kolve), Christine, Ashely, and Joshua, (LaVanne's) Mark, Jr
(fiance Aleisha Urness), and Samantha, and (Chuck's) Jacob, Kelsey,
Nikoli, Elisha, and Gabrielle; one great-grandson and three great-granddaughters; and dog and faithful companion,
Pugsley.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2008, at Grace Baptist Church, 11591 17th Ave, Eau Claire, with Pastor Brian Jahn officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Elk Mound, Wisconsin, with American Legion Post #53 conducting military honors. Friends may call from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday evening at Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road, Eau Claire and at the church one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family. Ray will be sadly missed by family, friends, and neighbors.
