Meltcher (Mel) W. Reifenauer, of Eau Claire
 
Passed away Saturday, November 22, 2008, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. Born August 8, 1917. He was born to Otto A. Sr. and Martha (Skog) Reifenauer, Eau Claire, WI. He married Ann Nelson on August 23, 1941. Ann passed away in 1967. He married Kathryn (Kay) Johnson on May 5, 1969. 
 
He is survived by his wife Kay, sister Esther Metzenbauer, Chippewa Falls, brother Irwin Reifenauer, Mechanicsville, Md., four step-children; Gary, Jeff, Kevin and Gail Nelson and four step-grandchildren and special friends, Lee Baril, Pam Haigh and the Blodgett's. He was preceded in death by his first wife Ann, brothers Edmund, Otto Jr., Charles, and Robert, sisters Arvilla and Mable and many nieces and nephews. 

 
He was member of Chapel Heights United Methodist Church. He loved his church and the many friends he had there. 
 
He was educated in Eau Claire, Elk Mound and U.W. Stout. He was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed all sports, the Packers, basketball, golf, baseball and small game hunting. 
 
He worked for Uniroyal for more than 35 years. He loved to socialize with co-workers at their monthly get together breakfasts and the Ambassador's Club. 
 
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at Chapel Heights United Methodist Church 300 West Hamilton Avenue, Eau Claire, WI. Pastor Jim McKay will officiate. Friends may call at Church Wednesday morning from 9 am until the time of services. Burial will take place at Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington at 1:30 p.m. that afternoon.
