Richard was so pleasant and good to be around, I will miss him. Some of my children spent time at his art supplies shop in the past. My sympathies to his loved ones and friends who will also miss him.

Dick was my art teacher back at Randall School. We became friends after that, and over the years would always exchange pleasantries whenever we would meet. I would always say "Hello, Mr. Richardson" in a sing-song fashion, and he always knew it was me, even tho' he might not have remembered my name. I remember his beautiful Afghan dogs, his art shop, his clown gig, lots of things. He was always a pleasure to talk to. I respected him and liked him. My sympathies for your loss.

To the family of Richard Richardson, Barbara and Andy Shafer would like to send our deepest condolences. We are both artists and knew Dick for many years. Andy had lunch with Dick and members of the Art Department when he first came to Eau Claire to interview for his ultimate position at the University. That was 40 years ago this past February. We both spent time shopping, discovering wonderful stuff and gabbing in the store that he ran on Water Street. Stopping at the store was always a great "art" experience. Wondering around, up and over things in his wonderfully stocked corner of the world, has been missed for a long time. After the shop closed, we could at least for a while, stop to talk to Dick as he walked his dog. Even that seems to be a long time ago now. I'm certain you know that your loss is also a loss for many others. Please count us among them. Sincerely, Barbara and Andy Shafer

As a child raised in the Water street area. Rich had a love for the neighborhood, the Water Street Patrons, and was always a special part of the Doll & Pet parade. Which was especially meaningful to every child of the area. He also was a very dedicated member of St. Patrick Parish when I was a child and young adult. We shared a great friendship as I was employed at Adam's Drugstore "on the street" and worked on several church ministries. He will be greatly missed! All my sympathy Vicki
